STCW Advanced Fire Fighting Refresher
Introduction
The STCW – Advanced fire fighting Refresher (AFF) training course aims to provide training in advanced fire fighting in accordance with the 1978 STCW Regulations,
as amended in 2010, REG.VI/3, Sec.A-VI/3 Para.5, and Table A-VI/3.
The emphasis of the training is on organization, tactics and command. Upon meeting the minimum proficiency standard for advanced firefighting, the trainee is able to command, organize and train firefighting teams, and lead firefighting operations.
When meeting the minimum proficiency standard for advanced firefighting, the student is able to command, organize and train firefighting crews, and lead firefighting operations.
The seafarer has acquired knowledge of fire prevention and is able to inspect and maintain fire detection and fire extinguishing systems and equipment.
He is also able to investigate and report fire incidents.
Objective
Upon successful completion of the Advanced Fire Fighting refresher course, the student will have gained knowledge and skills in handling basic and advanced fire fighting and first aid on board.
Target
Intended for anyone working on board ships covered by the STCW regime and the Seafarers Act.
Conditions for participation
De cursist dient in het bezit te zijn van:
- A relevant and valid basic or refresher AFF certificate and a valid boating license
- een geldige geneeskundige verklaring voor de zeescheepvaart
- good health and physically able to participate in practical exercises (use of breathing apparatus, confined spaces and heat exposure)

Upon successful completion of the course, the student will receive the certificate:
