GWO - Basic Safety Training Refresher

GWO – Basic Safety Training Refresher (BSTR).
The GWO – Basic Safety Training Refresher Offshore / Onshore (BSTR) is designed for personnel who will be working in the wind industry, onshore and/or offshore. One is involved in the construction, maintenance and/or provides services for onshore/offshore wind turbines and wind farms, Personnel who will be employed in the wind industry or related fields, and will perform their duties in a wind turbine environment, usually in physical contact with a wind turbine or offshore wind structure. Personnel performing tasks that the employer or workplace manager has determined to be a job whose risks can be reduced by training according to one or more modules of the BST standard.

The purpose of the GWO – Basic Safety Training Refresher (BSTR) is to review and further develop previously acquired BST knowledge and skills through theoretical and practical training.

This GWO – Basic Safety Training Refresher (BSTR) training enables delegates to support and care for themselves and others working in the industry by possessing the knowledge and skills of First Aid, Working at Heights, Manual Handling, Fire Awareness, Sea Survival and in the event of an emergency be able to evacuate, rescue victims and provide appropriate First Aid.
The difference between the GWO Basic Safety Training Refresher (BSTR) Onshore / Offshore is that the Onshore GWO Basic Safety Training Refresher (BSTR) does not require sea survival.

The GWO Basic Safety Training Refresher course is composed of the following modules;

  • First Aid (BST FA) – 0.5 day
  • Working at Heights including Manual Handling(BST WAH) – 1 day
  • Fire Awareness (BST FAW) – 0.5 day
  • Sea Survival (BST SS) – 1 day
  • Manual Handling (BST MH) separate – 0.5 day

Admission Requirements:

  1. You must be physically able to attend this course.
  2. In connection with use of personal protective equipment, Your body weight may not exceed 120 kilograms.
  3. You are not afraid of heights.
  4. If you are taking medicines you must mention this at the time of booking. If it is found that the use of the drug is limiting, the booking will be cancelled free of charge.

Certification:

If You have attended the course and the required competencies have been marked with a pass, the certificate for the relevant modules will be issued.

Validity:

The certificate is valid for two years.
After 2 years, you must attend a 3-day refresher course.
It is valid for two years.

The course is recognized by the Global Wind Organization ( http://www.globalwindsafety.org )

Winda Registration:

All participants must register as participants in Winda prior to the start of the course.
Registration is mandatory if you want to work in wind energy.
After registration, you will receive a Winda-ID.
The Winda ID must be included with the course booking.

After certification, we will link your certificates to your Winda account.
