STCW Passenger Safety, Cargo Safety and Hull Integrity Training.

Introduction
The STCW – Proficiency in Crisis Management, Human Behaviour provides seafarers with an understanding of shipboard emergency procedures,
the controlled response to emergencies and knowledge of how to safely control passengers and personnel during an emergency.
This STCW course is a mix of practical experience and theory development in the field of crisis management, taught over the one-day course.

Objective
After completing the course(s), the student will have gained knowledge and skills on how to effectively act on board passenger and/or ro-ro vessels in case of emergencies regarding passenger and cargo safety and watertightness of the hull.

Target Audience
Masters, Chief engineers, Chief mates, Second engineers and anyone responsible and/or designated for the safety of passengers, cargo and ship in emergency situations.

Course Content
The Crisis Management & Human Behaviour course covers the following components:

  • emergency procedures to be followed on board
  • use of available resources
  • leadership and handling of stress
  • communication
  • cases

 

The Passenger Safety, Cargo Safety and Hull Integrity course covers the following components:

  • loading and embarkation
  • transport of dangerous goods (IMDG)
  • stability, trim and stress calculations
  • opening and closing of hull openings
  • ro-ro deck conditions

 

Certification

Upon successful completion of the course, the student will receive the certificate:

  • Proficiency in Crisis Management & Human Behaviour, STCW reg. V/2, par. 8, Section A-V/2-4, table A-V/2-2
  • Proficiency in Passenger Safety, Cargo Safety and Hull Integrity Training, STCW reg. V/2, par. 8, Section A-V/2-5
