SCV Code Boat Engineer grade II (2)

De Ruyter Training & Consultancy (DRTC) is offering the course in Aruba, Bonaire, St. Maarten and St. Maarten. Eustatius, Curacao, Saba.

Protected watersshall mean an area designated as such by the competent authority for the small vessels in relation to its territorial waters, consisting of sheltered waters that do not present special hazards. If not designated as such, it is an area that is in no case more than 3 nautical miles from a safe place of refuge.

Port or safe haven: a harbor, inlet or other body of water usually sheltered from heavy seas by land that poses no particular danger and into which a vessel can safely enter and from which those on board can safely disembark. The suitability of a location as a safe place of refuge is determined by the competent authority.

Coastal waters means an area designated as such by the competent authority in respect of the territorial sea and contiguous zone, but in no case extending more than 20 nautical miles from a port or place of refuge. If not so designated, it means an area not more than 20 nautical miles from a port or safe haven.

Exposed (exposed) waters means all waters more than 20 nautical miles from a port or safe haven, or other waters designated as such by the competent authority.

Objective
Degenen die de opleiding met succes hebben voltooid, hebben kennis verworven en bewezen over handelen in noodgevallen, technische werkprocedures, preventie van mariene verontreiniging, scheepsmotor, elektrische systemen, pompen en pompsystemen, voortstuwingssysteem, veilige werkprocedure, hulpmachines en -systemen, buitenboordmotor, basiskennis droogleggen, basiskennis zeemanschap, aan- en afmeren, kennis van schepen en scheepstypen, basisveiligheid, basiskennis machinekamerindelingen.

Target
This course is designed for engineers responsible for an engine room of a vessel <24m with main propulsion machinery of up to 750 KW in protected waters & boats of 15-24m with main propulsion machinery of up to 750 KW in coastal waters.

Conditions for participation
De cursist dient in het bezit te zijn van:

• 18 years and older
• a valid medical certificate
• good health and physically able to participate in hands-on exercises
• Certificates (STCW Basic Safety Training): (available from DRTC Caribbean).

Exam
The examination for marine engineer for grade 2 consists of an oral examination in which candidates are tested on their knowledge of marine engines, propulsion systems, auxiliary machinery
machinesystemen buitenboordmotoren, veilige werkpraktijken en hoe de kandidaat reageert op bepaalde noodsituaties.

Accreditatie
de cursus is geaccrediteerd door de Nederlandse Inspectie Leefomgeving en Transport.

Certification
Na succesvolle afronding van de cursus ontvangt de cursist het certificaat:

Boat Engineer Grade 2 in accordance with the Code of Safety for Small Vessels (CSV Code), Chapter X and Appendix 11.

De rang van de vergunning die passend is voor een schip dat wordt geëxploiteerd in de in kolom (1) van tabel X/9.2 genoemde wateren en dat de in kolom (2) van de tabel voor die wateren aangegeven grootte heeft, is ofwel de rang die in kolom (3) van de tabel voor die wateren en die scheepsgrootte is aangegeven, ofwel, wanneer de aldus aangegeven rang 2 is, een hogere rang dan de aldus aangegeven rang:
