STCW - Personal Survival Techniques & Elementary First Aid Refresher (PST - EFA).

Introduction
The STCW – Personal Survival Techniques & Elementary First Aid Refresher (PST – EFA) training course gives seafarers
who must take charge of a group life-saving device or a lifeboat (other than fast rescue boats) in emergency situations
The essential education and training for the required tasks.

Objective
Those who have successfully completed the training have knowledge and skills in personal survival at sea and basic first aid on board ships as well as with launching and staying in lifeboats.

Target
For any person designated as a crew member for a lifeboat on a ship.

Conditions for participation
De cursist dient in het bezit te zijn van:

  • the relevant, valid basic or refresher certificates and a valid sailing license
  • een geldige geneeskundige verklaring voor de zeescheepvaart
  • good health and physically able to participate in hands-on exercises


Course content
Below is the brief course content, emphasizing practical skills:

  • survival at sea and life-saving operations
  • preparation, embarkation and launching of rescue vessels

Certification
Upon successful completion of the course, the student will receive the certificate:

Proficiency in Basic Training Refresher: Personal Survival Techniques – Elementary First Aid, STCW reg.VI/1, Section A-VI/1 par. 2, Table A VI/1-1 – 3
