DRTC (De Ruyter Training & Consultancy B.V.) announces the introduction of the Basic Safety Training for Deckhands. As of now, interested parties can register for this essential course, which meets the rigorous standards established by the CESNI 2021-I-1 decision.

Participants will learn, among other things, about the various life-saving equipment, safe propulsion on board, emergency measures, firefighting, handling noise and hazardous materials, and basics of first aid, specific working conditions on board a vessel.

DRTC sets itself apart in deckhand training by offering unique hands-on exercises on the inland motor tanker Lingepoort, which has been converted into a training ship for sea rescue courses and is permanently stationed at the training center.

The choice of this motor tanker offers participants an exceptional learning experience, allowing them to practice real-life scenarios on a ship that has been precisely tailored to Dutch inland navigation standards.

With this approach, DRTC emphasizes its commitment to realism and practicality, preparing participants for various maritime challenges. The use of this unique training ship reinforces the quality of the courses and underscores DRTC’s commitment to high-quality maritime training.

After successful participation in the course, you will receive a Certificate in Basic Safety for Deckhands issued by CESNI. In addition to this CBR-recognized certificate, each participant will also receive a Company Emergency Worker certificate upon successful completion of the training.

The course meets the Standards for Basic Safety Training for Deckhands set by CESNI (Decision: CESNI 2021-I-1) and Directive (EU) 2017/2397. The training program has been approved by the CBR.
