De Ruyter Training & Consultancy (DRTC) offers a wide range of Maritime (safety) training courses. Our products range from Survival at Sea to Management Training for Maritime Officers or Medical Care on Board. Maritime for us is not just Shipping. Offshore wind, Offshore oil & gas extraction, port logistics, inland navigation, it is Maritime in the broadest possible sense. Our target audiences are professionals working in these sectors or students at maritime school, among others.
DRTC serves international clients from our offices in Vlissingen, Groningen and Willemstad (Curaçao). Our back office supports the branches from Vlissingen. For the back office, we are looking for administrative reinforcement. Are you good with various Office applications and ERP/CRM systems? Do you work accurately and enjoy checking that the process is running smoothly? As a Customer Support Coordinator, you are the first point of contact for our customers and thus the “face” of our organization. We strive to provide our customers with the highest quality service and help them do their jobs safely and efficiently.
What does your work look like?
- You organize the training sessions from start to finish.
- Daily communication with customers via email and phone to handle their questions and requests quickly and efficiently. You will check registrations through the website, actively contact clients to get details arranged, make arrangements with hotels, cab companies and caterer for necessary support services.
- You prepare the training by making sure that everyone has the right information on time, in doing so you solve small bottlenecks, you have a lot of contact with the instructors, customers and also suppliers.
- Support instructors to ensure they have all necessary materials and resources for their courses.
- Upon completion of the training, you provide certificates for the participants and verify that all data is complete for invoicing.
- You keep the website updated and make sure there are enough offerings.
Job requirements
To be successful in this role, we ask the following:
- The Maritime sector is very dynamic. Our clients are on deadlines and often need answers quickly. You can quickly switch between the various tasks at hand, avoiding errors by checking regularly.
- Enthusiasm and dedication to satisfy customers.
- Proactive attitude and ability to work independently.
- Flexible attitude (no 9 to 5 mentality).
- You have an “eye for detail” that allows you to notice even the smallest points in the big picture
- You recognize customer needs and communicate them to management
- Communicating in English is not something you shy away from. A foreign customer who calls or has a question via e-mail knows how to speak to you in excellent English.
- You have no problem learning about new administration software, you are able to quickly familiarize yourself with it.
- You have experience working with content management systems for website maintenance (or able to learn this quickly).
