The importance of good cooperation between the crew on board and the shore organization is crucial to the safety of both the ship and the crew. These courses not only offer seafarers the opportunity to increase their knowledge, but also representatives of shore-based organizations can find inspiration here.

The main objective of these courses is to develop knowledge and skills to strengthen team spirit among the crew, with a specific focus on increasing and ensuring safety to prevent accidents.

The courses are designed for captains, mates, marine engineers and marofs, as well as representatives of shore-based organizations interested in improving their understanding and cooperation with ship teams.

To be eligible for certification, participants must hold a Mate, Marine Engineer or Marof degree, or be in training for these degrees. Participants who do not meet these requirements will receive a certificate of participation.

The course covers a wide range of topics, including managing and leading a bridge and engine room team, cooperation within these teams, division of labor, handling standard and emergency situations, decision-making under pressure, use of procedures and safety regulations, communication and cultural differences. The course uses a bridge and engine room simulator from Noorderpoort College, with experienced teachers from within the organization providing support.
