In the constantly evolving world of maritime operations, ensuring the safety of your crew is of utmost importance. The unpredictable nature of the open sea demands a high level of preparedness.

In July 2021, during the meeting of the Caribbean Memorandum of Understanding on Port State Control (CMOU), the Code of Safety for Small Commercial Vessels engaged in voyages in the Caribbean region (SCV Code) was amended.

The Maritime Dutch Law Assessment (online) evaluates your knowledge of Dutch legislation required to obtain and have a seafaring certificate recognized. Captains, chief mates, and chief engineers must demonstrate that they are familiar with Dutch maritime law.

This assessment is specifically designed for captains of non-Dutch nationality who wish to sail under the Dutch flag (Seafarers Act, May 3, 2014).

A brand-new boat landing has been installed at DRTC Groningen. From now on, DRTC Groningen B.V. will regularly conduct boat landing (GWO – Global Wind Organisation) trainings.

On July 20, DRTC conducted the first HUET training with the new installation in Vlissingen.

A HUET installation has been installed in the pool on the training vessel Lingepoort, where members of the Maritime Incident Response Groups (MIRG) team from the Veiligheidsregio Zeeland completed their refresher training.

DRTC has revamped its Bridge Resource Management (BRM) and Engine Room Resource Management (ERM) trainings. In collaboration with HZ University of Applied Sciences and Noorderpoort College, these trainings are delivered using modern simulators and a team of experienced professionals with extensive sea experience.

Groningen – After a period of preparation, the time has come to start courses in Ship Management, Bridge Resource Management and Engine Room Resource Management at our Groningen location, in a promising collaboration between Noorderpoort College and DRTC.

De Ruyter Training & Consultancy BV (DRTC) has been active in the field of maritime safety training since 1991. For many years, we have been providing training in cooperation with Safety Centre Zeeland (formerly Training Centre Vlissingen) for numerous shipping companies and offshore organizations in areas such as sea survival, fire fighting and prevention, first aid, and safe work procedures, including working and rescue at heights and in confined spaces.

A new, independent quality mark for ambitious providers of safety courses: on January 1, 2018, NIBHV officially launched the new certification. DRTC is the first training institute from Zeeland and the sixth in the Netherlands to achieve this NIBHV quality mark.

De herhalingsverplichting voor de STCW trainingen basisveiligheid, reddingmiddelen, snelle hulpverleningsboot en brandbestrijding voor gevorderden is ingegaan op 01-01-2017. Vanaf die datum moet een zeevarende aantonen dat de trainingen minder dan 5 jaar geleden zijn gevolgd. Het aantonen dient te gebeuren door middel van een certificaat.
