Objective
The aim of this course is to train participants in the correct operation and use of gas detection equipment, as well as in the interpretation of results and implementation of appropriate safety measures.
Learning Objectives
Participants will learn to:

Apply gas measurement strategies for various environments

Understand measurement principles, procedures, and regulations

Operate and maintain different types of detection equipment

Interpret gas readings and assess whether they fall within safe limits

Recommend and take corrective or emergency actions when necessary

Use appropriate safety equipment and PPE during gas measurement activities

Conduct safe measurements in confined spaces and assess related hazards
Practical Exercises
A maximum of 6 participants per instructor ensures personalized supervision and optimal learning during practical sessions.
Duration
1 day – both the initial and refresher courses are conducted in a single day.
Entry Requirements
No offshore medical certificate is required. The focus is on technical knowledge and safe work practices.
Certification
Upon successful completion, participants receive the official NOGEPA 1.4A Gas Measurement Certificate, recognized throughout the offshore oil and gas industry.
Validity
The certificate is valid for 4 years. After this period, a refresher course is required to renew the certification.

Class hours: 08:30 – 17:00
Participants: maximum 6 per instructor during practical training
Accreditation: approved by NOGEPA (Netherlands Oil and Gas Exploration and Production Association)
