Industrie - Basis Industriële Adembescherming

Introduction
In industrial environments, gases, vapours, or oxygen-deficient atmospheres can pose immediate health risks. This course teaches participants how to safely use independent breathing apparatus to work safely under such conditions. The training combines theoretical instruction with hands-on practice focused on the correct selection, use, and maintenance of breathing equipment.

Objective
The objective of this course is to train participants in the safe use of breathing apparatus. Upon completion, participants will be able to operate, inspect, and maintain the equipment correctly and work safely in hazardous or oxygen-deficient environments.

Target Group
For all personnel working in industrial environments where breathing protection is required, such as maintenance staff, process operators, emergency responders, and contractors.

Entry Requirements

  • Must be physically capable of using breathing apparatus.
  • Valid medical clearance for breathing apparatus use is mandatory.
  • Must be clean-shaven for proper face mask sealing.

Course Content

  • Theory on respiratory hazards and types of protection
  • Function and structure of breathing apparatus
  • Safe use of independent breathing systems
  • Inspection, maintenance, and checks before use
  • Procedures for confined space work
  • Practical exercises using breathing apparatus in realistic industrial settings

Certification
Upon successful completion, participants receive the Basic Industrial Breathing Protection Certificate, demonstrating competence in safe breathing apparatus use in industrial settings.

Validity
The certificate is valid for three years. After this period, a refresher course is required to maintain certification.

Yes. We provide tailored in-company training designed for your organisation, including practical scenarios that take into account shift work and operational schedules.

For some courses, you can choose VAT exemption. This means the training will be invoiced without 21% VAT. The exemption applies only to recognised vocational training programmes that fall under official supervision by organisations such as ILT, OPITO, GWO, or NOGEPA.

Choose VAT exemption if you are taking the course for professional purposes or as a private individual without VAT deduction rights.
Choose including VAT if you are booking on behalf of a company that can reclaim VAT from the Dutch Tax and Customs Administration.

Your invoice will then state:
“Exempt from VAT under Article 11, paragraph 1, section o of the Dutch VAT Act 1968.”

Yes, for day courses we provide coffee, tea, and lunch unless otherwise specified.

Our training locations are in Vlissingen, Groningen, Heerenveen, and Delfzijl. We also provide on-site training at client locations.

You can cancel your booking by contacting us via email or phone. For open enrolment courses you may cancel free of charge up to 5 working days before the start. For customised training you may cancel free of charge up to 14 working days before the start. If you cancel within those deadlines the full course fee will be invoiced.
