About this course

GWO FAW-R + SS-R

Introduction
During this refresher course, theory is combined with realistic practical exercises. For the Fire Awareness module, exercises take place both indoors and outdoors using approved training equipment. The focus is on fire prevention, the safe evacuation of personnel and extinguishing an incipient fire.

During the Sea Survival module, participants practise safe working during vessel transfers, emergencies at sea and evacuations from offshore installations under controlled conditions. The practical exercises take place in an indoor swimming pool using approved training and rescue equipment.

Safety, realism, risk awareness, cooperation and practical learning are central to both modules.

Objective
The objective of this combination course is to refresh the knowledge and practical skills relating to fire safety and survival at sea. After completing the course, participants will be able to recognise fire hazards, evacuate safely, extinguish an incipient fire and respond correctly during transfers and emergency situations at sea.

Target group
This combination course is intended for personnel who work or will be working in the wind energy industry or related sectors and who need to renew both their GWO Fire Awareness certificate and their GWO Sea Survival certificate.
