Day 1 - Working at height and rescue techniques

The first day focuses on safe work and rescue at height. Participants learn to use fall protection systems, inspect PPE and follow emergency procedures. Practical exercises include climbing, descending and performing rescues in realistic turbine environments. Teamwork, communication and personal responsibility are key throughout the day.

Day 2 - Manual handling and safe lifting

The second day covers the prevention of physical strain and injury. Participants learn safe lifting and carrying techniques, ergonomic principles and teamwork during load handling. Practical sessions focus on balance, posture and the use of safe working methods in everyday tasks.

Day 3 - Fire safety and emergency procedures

Day three focuses on fire safety and emergency response. Participants identify fire hazards, distinguish between fire classes and learn to use extinguishers correctly. Realistic drills simulate smoke conditions and emergency evacuations. The day strengthens awareness of fire prevention and risk control.

Day 4 - First aid and teamwork during incidents

The final day focuses on providing first aid in the wind turbine environment. Topics include CPR, AED use, wound care and shock management. BHV (company emergency response) is not legally mandatory on Curaçao, Aruba and Sint Maarten as it is in the Netherlands. However, employers are required to ensure a safe working environment, including first aid, fire safety and emergency procedures. On Bonaire (Caribbean Netherlands), the Arbowet BES applies, which includes similar safety obligations. In practice, BHV or equivalent safety training is strongly recommended and often required by employers, clients or insurers.

DRTC (De Ruyter Training & Consultancy) provides practical BHV and safety training in the Caribbean, focused on realistic scenarios such as fire response, accidents and evacuation. With DRTC training, organizations on Curaçao, Bonaire, Sint Maarten and Aruba ensure well-prepared personnel and meet applicable safety expectations.
