GWO WAH-R + FA-R + SS-R

The GWO WAH-R + FA-R + SS-R is a combined refresher training course in which participants refresh their knowledge and skills in working safely at heights, first aid and sea survival. By combining theory with realistic practical exercises, participants are once again prepared to deal with risks, accidents and emergency situations within the onshore and offshore wind energy industry.

About this course

GWO WAH-R + FA-R + SS-R

Introduction
During this combined refresher training course, participants learn how to work safely and responsibly in and around wind turbines. The training covers the correct use of personal protective equipment, fall protection systems and rescue equipment. Participants also practise recognising and responding to medical emergencies, performing life-saving procedures and stabilising casualties.

Safe boat transfers, evacuations and emergency situations at sea are also covered. The exercises are carried out under controlled and realistic conditions. Throughout all modules, emphasis is placed on risk awareness, teamwork, clear communication and the correct application of previously acquired knowledge and skills.

Objective
The objective of this combined refresher training course is to refresh and strengthen the participants’ knowledge and skills in working safely at heights, first aid and sea survival.

After completing the training, participants will be able to use personal protective equipment and fall protection systems correctly, identify risks and carry out emergency and rescue procedures. They will also be able to assess medical emergencies, perform life-saving procedures, stabilise casualties and act safely during boat transfers, evacuations and other emergency situations at sea.

Target group
This combined training course is intended for personnel who work, or will be working, in the wind energy industry or related sectors and who need to renew their GWO Working at Heights, GWO First Aid and GWO Sea Survival certificates.

 

Practical info

Entry Requirements
The following conditions apply to participation in this combined training course:

  • You must be physically capable of participating in all practical exercises.
  • Due to the use of personal protective equipment, your body weight must not exceed 120 kilograms.
  • You must not suffer from a fear of heights.
  • You must hold valid Working at Heights, First Aid and Sea Survival certificates.
  • If you use medication, you must mention this when making the booking.
  • If the use of medication restricts your ability to participate in the practical exercises, the booking will be cancelled free of charge.

Certification
The training course is based on the GWO Working at Heights, First Aid and Sea Survival modules and complies with the international standards of the Global Wind Organisation.

After successfully completing the training and demonstrating the required competencies, participants will receive the following officially recognised certificates:

  • GWO Working at Heights;
  • GWO First Aid;
  • GWO Sea Survival.

Validity
The three GWO certificates are valid for two years. To maintain their validity, the relevant refresher training courses must be completed again within the applicable validity period.

Prices: The prices stated on the website apply to the current calendar year and are indexed annually.

WINDA registration
All participants must register in WINDA before the start of the GWO WAH-R + FA-R + SS-R combined training course. Registration is mandatory for everyone who wants to work in the wind energy industry.

After registering, the participant will receive a WINDA ID. This WINDA ID must be provided when booking the training course. After successful certification, DRTC will add the certificates obtained to the participant’s personal WINDA account.
