Introduction
This interactive e-learning combines theoretical reviews with multimedia assignments, videos, and realistic case studies. You will learn how to recognize hazardous situations, respond correctly to alarms, and make informed decisions during emergencies. The flexible setup allows participants to refresh their knowledge whenever it fits their schedule.

Objective
The objective of this course is to maintain the validity of the BHV certificate by reviewing and strengthening firefighting, alarm, and evacuation skills. Upon completion, participants remain capable of responding promptly and effectively during emergencies and coordinating within the emergency response team.

Target group
This course is intended for employees who are part of their company’s emergency response organization and responsible for firefighting, alerting, and evacuation during incidents.

Course content
The BHV E-learning Refresher covers both theoretical and practical elements, including:
  • Review of basic emergency response principles
  • Assessment of emergencies and alarm procedures
  • Firefighting and proper use of extinguishers
  • Evacuation planning and procedures

  • Scenario-based exercises and practical simulations
Certification
Upon successful completion, participants receive an officially recognized certificate of participation, confirming their competence to act as an emergency responder.
 
Validity
The certificate is valid for one year from the date of issue. If a refresher is not completed within three months after expiration, the full basic training must be retaken.

Day 1 - Firefighting and Evacuation Refresher

This refresher course is designed for emergency response officers who need to renew their fire and evacuation competencies. Participants complete an e-learning module covering current fire behavior, extinguishing agents, communication, and evacuation procedures.

The practical session focuses on applying this knowledge in realistic exercises, including extinguishing small fires and conducting safe evacuations. The day concludes with an evaluation and renewal of the BHV Fire & Evacuation certification.

  • VCA: usually valid for 10 years
  • BHV: recommended or required annually by most organisations
  • First Aid: validity depends on the certification body, usually annual maintenance and reassessment within 2 years

Yes, we offer blended learning options combining online theory with a shorter practical session.

Bring valid identification and comfortable clothing. For forklift or aerial platform training, safety shoes are required. PPE will be provided where necessary.

Yes, we offer refresher modules for many of our courses. The validity of certificates depends on the standard and course.

For some courses, you can choose VAT exemption. This means the training will be invoiced without 21% VAT. The exemption applies only to recognised vocational training programmes that fall under official supervision by organisations such as ILT, OPITO, GWO, or NOGEPA.

Choose VAT exemption if you are taking the course for professional purposes or as a private individual without VAT deduction rights.
Choose including VAT if you are booking on behalf of a company that can reclaim VAT from the Dutch Tax and Customs Administration.

Your invoice will then state:
“Exempt from VAT under Article 11, paragraph 1, section o of the Dutch VAT Act 1968.”

You can cancel your booking by contacting us via email or phone. For open enrolment courses you may cancel free of charge up to 5 working days before the start. For customised training you may cancel free of charge up to 14 working days before the start. If you cancel within those deadlines the full course fee will be invoiced.
