GWO WAH-R + FA-R + FAW-R + SS-R

Introduction
During this refresher training, participants learn how to act safely and responsibly in and around wind turbines and during offshore operations. The training covers the use of personal protective equipment and fall protection equipment, providing first aid, preventing and fighting fires, and safely carrying out transfers and evacuations at sea. The emphasis is on risk awareness, cooperation and responding effectively in emergency situations.

Objective
The objective of this combination training is to refresh and strengthen previously acquired knowledge and practical skills. After completing the training, participants will be able to work safely at height, use fall protection and rescue equipment, assess medical emergencies and provide first aid. They will also be able to identify fire hazards, follow evacuation procedures, extinguish small fires and act safely during offshore transfers and emergencies at sea.

Target group
This course is intended for personnel who work or will be working in the wind energy industry or related sectors and who need to renew their GWO Working at Heights, First Aid, Fire Awareness and Sea Survival certificates.

Practical info

Entry requirements

  • You must be physically capable of participating in all practical training activities.
  • Due to the use of personal protective equipment, your body weight must not exceed 120 kilograms.
  • You must not have a fear of heights.
  • You must hold the relevant GWO certificates that you wish to renew through this refresher training.
  • A valid Working at Heights certificate is required to participate in the Sea Survival module.
  • If you use medication, you must mention this when making your booking.
  • If the medication restricts your ability to participate, the booking will be cancelled free of charge.

Certification
After successfully completing the training and demonstrating the required competencies, participants will receive separate, officially recognised GWO certificates for the Working at Heights, First Aid, Fire Awareness and Sea Survival modules. The training complies with the international standards of the Global Wind Organisation.

Validity
All four GWO certificates are valid for two years. After this period, the relevant refresher training courses must be completed again to maintain the validity of the certificates.

WINDA registration

All participants must register in WINDA before the combination training begins. After registration, you will receive a WINDA ID, which must be provided when booking the course. Following successful certification, DRTC will link the four certificates obtained to the participant’s personal WINDA account.
