Please note that this course is intended for seafarers with a dutch certificate of competence in order to upgrade their Certificate of Competence to Chief Officer and/or Master, 2nd engineer and/or Chief engineer.
Teaching management techniques; Occupational Health and Safety; ISM; Marpol; BRM/ERM; Stability/Maintenance management; Manage the Crew.
From 1 February 2002 for Captain (except if limited to "near shore voyages" and "fishing"), Chief Officer, Chief Engineer and first maritime officer.
Not required for the holders of the diploma: Chief officer all ships >500GT, the diploma C as a marine engineer, Refresher course 6000 - 9000 GT was successfully completed.
A certificate of participation in a maritime engineering course shall be regarded as equivalent.
Seafarers already in the position of captain or Chief Engineer before 1-2-02 do not have to comply with this requirement.

One year sailing time
Ship Management - Navigation, STCW reg. II/2, Section A-II/2, Table A-II/2
Ship Management - Engineering, STCW reg. III/2, Section A-III/2, Table A-III/2
Ship management - mono-discipline: 8 days
Ship Management - Marof: 10 days (divided over 2 courses)
08.30 - 17.00 (with some evening sessions).
